Katrina Kaif's father originally hails from Kashmir and has since acquired British citizenship while her mother is a Caucasian of British nationality. Katrina Kaif has eight sisters. She was discovered at age 14 as a model for a jewellery campaign.Katrina Kaif started her career as a model with photographer Atul Kasbekar and later on received offers from LG, Fevicol, Lakme and Veet. The actress worked hard to learn the kathak dance form in just 40 days. She used to work for about seven hours a day. At a very young age, Katrina Kaif is known in the industry as the beauty with brains. In 2003, the actress made her debut in the film Boom, which bombed at the box office.Katrina's two Telugu movies Malliswari & Pidugu brought her fame. She grossed Rs 70 lakh for Malliswari, making her top the list of the highest paid actresses for a debut South Indian film. In 2005, Lakme India Fashion Week proclaimed her the Face of the Year.

Mallika Sherawat has a degree in Philosophy from Miranda House, Delhi University.She was briefly married to Karan Singh Gill, a pilot for Jet Airways. The marriage ended in a divorce.Reema started out as a small-time model and actress in Delhi before she re-christened herself as Mallika Sherawat. Mallika Sherawat made her debut in the film Jeena Shirf Mere Liye, in 2002. She's a part of Lak Tunoo, a music video by Surjit Bindrakhia. The actress received a lot of notice for her work in the film, Khwaish. In 2004 She received a nomination for Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards ceremony for her performance in Murder. The film went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.She also made news when she won a small role in a Jackie Chan movie, The Myth, where she again appeared in revealing costumes. She made a widely publicised appearance at the Cannes Film Festival to promote the film. Mallika has a part play in Kamal Hassan's Dasavatharam. She is known as the most expensive Item Girl when she charged Rs 1.5 crore for an item number in the film Aap Ka Suroor. The Hong Kong based fashion and beauty magazine, Cover, has voted Mallika Sherawat as one of Asia's 100 most beautiful people. Mallika Sherawat was ranked 67th among the Most Desirable Women in the world by Askmen.

World's largest camel race

A race by 468 camels around a 4km-track in Layoune, in Western Sahara, has, say the organisers, broken a world record with some 100 more entrants than previously recorded - although this is still to be ratified.It was the high point in a week-long festival celebrating the culture of the Saharawi people.The entrants included 100 one-humped dromedaries, known as Arabian camels, and 200 Bactrian camels, which have two humps.Camels need to be in peak physical condition to race.Younger camels tend to run quicker than their older counterparts, so races are often divided into different categories.Here, races take place featuring camels either above or below five years old.
The starting line-upThe track was not wide enough for all 468 competitors.This meant several heats of about 50 camels each were staged over three days.
The race Camels are known for their stamina and endurance.They can run over short distances at speeds of about 30km an hour.
