LED Lamps Directly Powered by AC 100V

Lumidas Japan demonstrated lamps with a round head surface (4, 8, 16, 22, 52 and 72W models) as well as square-shaped models. Their light-emitting efficiency is as high as 80lm/W, the company said. And their color temperature can be selected from 5300K and 3700K, which looks like the color of electric bulbs.

Lumidas Japan was lighting the LED lamps, which have a built-in power supply circuit, directly with 100V alternating current. It can also prepare models supporting AC 200V, it said. The price is about ¥30,000 (approx US$333) for the 16W model with the round head surface.

The models with the round head surface feature an accordion metal radiator unit to expand the radiation area and increase the heat radiation efficiency of the light-emitting part, the company said.

The white LEDs used in those products are supplied by Citizen Electronics Co Ltd, LumiMicro Co Ltd and others. And the white LEDs supplied by LumiMicro use Toyoda Gosei Co Ltd's and Showa Denko KK's blue LED chips, according to Lumidas.
