-Keep training sessions down to about 15 minutes so that your dog doesn't bored of hearing the same command over and over again.
-Reward you dog every time it properly performs a trick.
-Choose a command for the trick you want to teach your dog and always use that same command.
-A command can be a word, or a hand signal. If your dog doesn't respond to one try the other.
-As your dog begins to show signs of understanding the trick and is trying it, slowly begin to decrease giving treats and instead give praise.
-Don't get annoyed with your dog if it takes them awhile to learn.

Teaching a dog to do tricks takes a lot of patience on your part. Always stay positive, dogs want to make their owners happy and they will eventually understand what you want them to do. If you get angry with your dog and reprimand it, it may not learn to do tricks because it will have only negative feelings about you teaching it tricks. When you start teaching your dog tricks you may want to start with the basics such as sit, stay, come, etc.

Teaching your dog other tricks will be easier if he knows the basics and understands how to listen to what you are saying. Always praise your dog for trying and don't give up on training it. If you aren't consistent with your training sessions, it will only be harder for your dog to learn tricks.
